1 in 4 children in Houston face food insecurity.
Together, we can change that.
Behind this number are real children and families in our community who don’t always have access to fresh, nutritious meals.
Over 1 million people in the Houston area face this challenge every day.
At Feeding the Lone Star, we bring people together in our kitchen to prepare meals with care. Those meals are delivered to neighbors across Houston the very same day.

Our Mission
Feeding the Lone Star is a non profit kitchen that brings volunteers of all ages together to prepare nutritious meals for individuals experiencing homelessness across Houston.
We empower our community through food and connection.
We believe that meals delivered with dignity uplift both the giver and the recipient, and that every act of kindness creates lasting impact.
What to Expect
When you volunteer, you’ll join a welcoming kitchen environment where teamwork, kindness, and purpose come together.
Volunteers help prepare fresh meals that are distributed to local organizations supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity.
No professional cooking experience is required, just a willingness to help.
